Karman’s Story

I began researching weight loss surgery after trying and failing numerous diets. After completing my research, I finally chose to have weight loss surgery. There were several factors that influenced my decision.
The first reason was because I was exhausted all the time; it took all of my energy just to walk. I felt drained after minimal activities that included sitting at a desk at work, and walking to and from my car. Each day after work I needed a nap in order to function that evening. My life consisted of a routine of work, sleep, dinner and watching television.
The second reason was my concern for my overall health. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and high blood pressure, and I suffered from severe low back pain, shortness of breath with exertion and joint pain.
I had a sleeve gastrectomy, and this was the best decision I have ever made in my life. One week after surgery I was already feeling a significant improvement in my overall health and my energy level had increased. My back and joint pain is gone; my blood pressure has improved so much that I no longer have to take medicine to control it. I am sleeping and breathing better, and I have more energy than I have had in years. I am even able to tolerate exercising now. GMC has hired a fantastic bariatric surgeon. Dr. Robert Richard and his staff provide a wonderful support system that ensures success for all of his surgical patients.
